LMI’s Six-Step Process
Initial trial
The second step in the process is the initial ramp-up phase. This is the first trial run, wherein LMI engineers bring a small quantity of blank lids and run them on a single lane of the customer’s equipment, without any prior adjustments. During this phase adjustments will be made as necessary to temperature, pressure, etc., in order to get levels where they need to be. Then quantities are run across all lanes to verify there are no issues and to establish consistency across the line. Essentials in phase one include:
- Work first-hand with customer’s actual equipment
- Consistently test performance of the lid’s seal to cup during initial trial
- Provide written performance assessment and plans for moving forward with minimal impact on customer’s production
