LMI Packaging Solutions Hosts HACCP Training Course

Pleasant Prairie, WI – December, 2009 - LMI Packaging Solutions, Inc., a printer and converter of flexible packaging materials used in heat seal die-cut, roll stock, daisy-chain lidding, hosted a day and a half training session on the development and implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). The training was given by Harry Field, from Professional Food Safety Ltd. LMI Packaging made the course available to both customers and Kenosha area companies.

"LMI Packaging’s deep commitment to manufacturing excellence originally motivated us to conduct this HACCP training course," said Randy Troutman, Vice President of Engineering for LMI Packaging. "After deciding to include other companies we realized it underscored our vision of developing and supporting best-in-class solutions for all of our valued customers."

The HACCP training course was attended by representatives of LMI Packaging Solutions, Roundy's, Lakeview Farms and St. Specialty Foods.  Each course participant received a certificate for successfully completing the introductory course for the development and implementation of a HACCP Program.

HACCP is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.  The class fulfills USDA and FDA regulatory requirements for HACCP training and the SQF institute HACCP training requirements for practitioners and auditors/ consultants.
